Krys serves as an Instructional Designer for the Office of Digital Learning and is focused on STEM courses for UA Online. She earned her Master's degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University and her Bachelor's in Creative Writing (Poetry) from Methodist College. Currently, Krys is finishing her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, focusing her dissertation on the intersections between student learning, faculty professional identity, and faculty professional development.
Before joining the ODL team, Krys worked as an Instructional Designer and Instructional Technologist for Northern Arizona University's e-Learning Center. She also serves as a part-time instructor for the NAU First Year Seminar program, teaching courses on gaming and Doctor Who. In addition, Krys has served nearly a decade in K-12, teaching English literature and preparing students for their graduation projects. She also has spent time as a soldier in the US Army, an accountant, and a truss designer.
Outside of work, Krys spends her time coaching Girls on the Run, running tabletop RPGs, watching sci-fi, and constantly proving to her students that the "old guys" can pwn at games too.
