Katy Holt serves as the Lead Instructional Technologist for the Office of Digital Learning. In conjunction with the Instructional Design team, she helps instructors to learn about and adopt technologies to enhance their teaching practices and to support students’ academic careers. If you would like to explore how to use visual discussion boards, badging and gamification, online proctoring services, or the wide gamut of UA tools, she’s your gal.
Katy’s university studies took her from Blacksburg, Va to Lomé, Togo, to Saint Petersburg, Russia, and finally back to Blacksburg for a degree in Political Science. Since 2009, she has traversed the UA community as a member of the IT support network.
Katy finds contentment in everyday interactions with people and is passionate about making resources available to those who need them. Outside of work, Katy practices flicks and backhands with a women’s Ultimate team and follows backpacking trails through the wilds of the Southwest.
