A recent presentation at the University of Arizona gave faculty and campus leaders the opportunity to hear from an administrator at one of the country’s leading online learning institutions.
Dr Larry Boggess, Director of Faculty Development at Penn State World Campus, visited with the UA community, connecting with instructional designers, educators, and administrators from across the university. He spoke on the evolving role of online education, and the need for quality online faculty development programs that place an importance on the intellectual resources of an institution. Dr. Boggess holds a Ph.D in Educational Theory and Policy from Penn State and an M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education. An assistant professor in Educational Leadership at Penn State, his research interests include leadership of small urban school districts, school leadership in the digital domain, and the implications of digital technology for university online teaching and learning.
